CHC41202 Certificate IV in Community Services Advocacy
The Vocational Training Board establishes traineeships in NSW. Through a consultative process between peak industry groups, employers and unions, facilitated by the ITAB, qualifications are identified that meet industry requirements and have appropriate award arrangements. This information is submitted to the Board for the declaration of a vocational training order in accordance with NSW legislation.
As qualifications have a vocational training order established, they are posted on the NSW DET Commissioner’s Bulletin. Further advice is available from NSW DET http://apprenticeship.det.nsw.edu.au/index1.htm
The Community Services Advocacy qualification in CHC02 Community Services Training Package has not been established as a traineeship in NSW.

Community Services Commission
The Community Services Commission (the CSC) was established by the Community Services (Complaints, Appeals and Monitoring) Act 1993 (NSW) (the Act). The CSC functions comprise of complaints handling, monitoring and inquiry role and an education and development role.
Council of Social Service of New South Wales (NCOSS)
The peak body for the social and community services sector in New South Wales. NCOSS represents the interests of disadvantaged people and the community welfare sector to the New South Wales Government.
Disability Advocacy NSW Inc (DA)
The service is funded to provide advocacy by Commonwealth Department of Family and Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FACSIA) and NSW Department of Ageing Disability and Home Care.
Public Interest Advocacy Centre, NSW (PIAC)
An independent, non-profit legal and policy centre. PIAC makes strategic interventions in public interest matters to foster a fair, just and democratic society and to empower citizens, consumers and communities.
